Tumor Lead, Lung Cancer - Oncology Outcomes Research
The Oncology Outcomes Research(O2R)team is composed ofhighfunctioningindividuals withexceptional strategic,technicaland communication skills. The teamis a key member of the Evidence Generationto PublicationOrganizationwithin Oncology Medical Affairsanddevelops strategy for and delivers impactful real world, economic and patient reported research for the AZ oncology portfoliofor the global and US organizations. The mission of the team is to focus onidentifying,quantifyingand communicating themedicalvalue propositionof moleculesin the oncology portfolio. The team is akey thoughtpartnerfor thetumorleadsandan importantmember of the Global& USMedical Team. The deliverables from this team have a significant impact on the success of theglobal& USmedical strategy.
There are 5 tumor teams in Oncology Outcomes Research: Lung, Breast, GU/Gyn, GI/Other and Hematology. EachTumorLeadis responsible fordeliveringstrategy and tactics for global and US medical affairs teams.
Key Stakeholders forthe Tumor Leadinclude:MedicalTumor LeadsinGlobal Medical Affairs,US MedicalAffairs,Regional Medical Affairs (EUCAN andInternational)andGlobal and US Market Access and Pricing teams.
TheTumorLeadreports to theHead,Executive Director, Oncology Outcomes Researchand willbe responsible fordevelopingand implementinghealth outcomes andreal-worldstudieson a global and US market level. TheTumor Leadis also responsible forstrategically communicating and influencing a diverse group of internal and external partners ata senior level.
TheTumorLeadwillbe responsible forleadinga team ofmolecule/assetfocuseddynamic researchers,includingmanagers of managersand delivering strategic plans andimplementingprojects toaccomplishthis mission.
Main responsibilities
Lead the development and execution of the Global andUStumorevidencestrategyincludingreal world evidence, and other activities toassess, quantifyand communicate thevalueproposition for AZ’s oncology portfolio
Within the Medical Governance process,leadthe Tumor Evidence Review Team (ERT) to ensure the scientific rigor of AZ sponsored research,overseeingapproval ofall study concepts,protocolsand publications
Overseea teamwith responsibility to support the Global and US market. The team will deliver both thestrategy and technical execution of projectsfor that specific tumor
Responsible for strategically communicating and influencing a diverse group of internal and external partners at theseniorlevelinMedical Affairs, Commercial and R&D
Proactive relationship and communications with key stakeholderswho are their counterparts inGlobal Medical Affairs, US Medical Affairs, Regional Medical Affairs (EUCAN and International),Global and US Market Access and Pricing teamsand other relevant cross-functional teams
Experienced manager who can coach and mentor researchers withdiverse technical skills andenablethem to deliver impactful and measurable results
Coaches andmentorsindividuals at all career levels to help them grow in both soft and hard skills
Oversee the developmentand executionofresearchplans for tumors andmolecules
Identifiesefficienciesin researchmethodologyand execution of projectsincluding but not limited to real world research, claims database analyses, registries,comparative effectiveness research, patient preference analyses,modelingand literature reviews.
Required Skills
15 + yearsexperiencein the pharmaceutical industry
graduate degree(MS, MPH,PhD) inhealth economics(HE), epidemiology, outcomes research(OR)and/or related fields.
In-depthexpertisewith research methods for real world research, HEOR projects includingpharmacoepidemiologicmodels
Scientificexpertisein oncology withknowledge of different data sources
Proven ability witha track recordof success in developing and leadingteams
Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as strong leadership and interpersonal skills
Demonstratedexpertisein analytical, judgment and problem-solving skills
Travel-25%

The annual base pay (or hourly rate of compensation) for this position ranges from $249,185 to $373,778. Our positions offer eligibility for various incentives—an opportunity to receive short-term incentive bonuses, equity-based awards for salaried roles and commissions for sales roles. Benefits offered include qualified retirement programs, paid time off (i.e., vacation, holiday, and leaves), as well as health, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
